As we move towards an eco-reliable future, our creations increasingly collaborate with nature. Symbiotic Luminescent takes inspiration from luminescent organisms, bringing life to the lamp’s body. 3D printed with iridescent filament, the shade glows red depending on its angle. The birch base holds the bulb and features mini magnets that align with those on the shade, creating a symbiotic relationship.

The lamp uses recycled translucent plastic for the shade and birch wood for the bulb to fit inside of. The shade is sculpted from scratch in the Blender and subsequently 3D printed using Ultimaker. The base is hand-crafted using 1/4 inch planes of birch and were laser cut into varying sized circles, then glued and sanded to a smooth shape. Magnets are attached on the top of the base so the shade can snap more easily.
